Friday Feature: Santa Claus is Coming to Town

December 19, 2014

With only 6 more days until the jolly ol' man arrives, we thought we would honor his belly full of jelly and his rosy red cheeks this Fancy That Friday! Everything Santa! At TBBC it wouldn’t quite be Christmas if we didn’t have a homemade Santa cookie every season, or maybe 3! (wink, wink) These Santa cookies caught our eye with their sparkle and sweetness! We just had to add them to our Fancy that Friday Santa Edition! Whether it’s a tradition you have done with your grandmother since you were a tot or one that you just started, this is a holiday tradition that everyone will look forward to every year. I mean who does not love a house filled with the smell of freshly baked sugar cookies?? Click here to get Martha Stewarts signature sugar cookie recipe! You better not pout I’m telling you why, Santa Claus is Coming to Town. If you are looking for a movie that will capture all ages, look no further. This darling 1970’s movie reveals the story of how Santa Claus came about! A true Christmas Classic movie. Who knew that Mikey Rooney and Fred Astaire are behind those magical characters voices? When you think about the most extraordinary and magical Santas, Mark Roberts comes to mind. You will not find a single one of his handcrafted Santa’s that will not be unique, whimsical, and stirring with imagination. We fell in love with this little guy! Lollipops, jewels, and pink silk pants- just a few of our favorite things! The TBBC girls love to get crafty every now and again, and this week we chose the Paper Plate Santa Claus craft! This little project is perfect for your little darlings and cleanup will be a breeze. You will need: 1 paper plate Cotton balls Construction paper Black Sharpie marker Crayons: peach, dark pink 1 medium glittery red pom-pom 4-inch piece of ribbon White craft glue Tape To Make The Santa : First, using the peach crayon, color a large circle in the middle of the paper plate. Then, cut Santa’s hat from red paper and glue it to the top of the plate. Next, glue a white pom-pom to the end of the hat. Take your glue and place a glittery red pom-pom to the center of the plate. Then use a black marker to draw eyes and eyebrows and take your pink crayon to color circles for rosy cheeks. Lastly, use white craft glue to cover the outer areas of the plate with cotton balls to create the brim for the hat and Santa’s beard. Ta-dah!!! Last but not least, nothing says Santa Claus like this traditional hand-stitched needlepoint tree skirt does! Horchow offers this one of a kind Old World Santa Tree skirtcomplete with tassels and the many outfits of Santa! Classy and Fancy all in one skirt! AND to top off this Fancy that Friday we have a surprise for you- New Year’s Photo Contest Time!! The winner receives a $215.00 TBBC gift card!!
